For some people, soft drinks is a part of their everyday lifestyle. Admittedly, a cold bottle of soft drink can provide an instant refreshment especially on a hot afternoon.
But drinking a bottle or 2 everyday is asking for trouble. This article reveals the health problems associated with excessive use of soft drinks.
1. Diabetes.
Diabetes is a deadly disease resulting from the inability of the body to convert excess sugar in the blood.
A study made from the School of Public Health, Havard found out that “people who consume sugary drinks regularly—1 to 2 cans a day or more—have a 26% greater risk of developing type 2 diabetes than people who rarely have such drinks”.
2. Tooth Decay
According to Healthline, the sugars and acids from carbonated soft drinks can dissolve the outermost part of the teeth, called the Enamel. In the process, it results in discolouration and expose the delicate layers of the teeth to further decay.
3. Kidney Stones
Concentrated solid minerals, called kidney stones can make urinating very painful. The American Heart Association showed through a study that drinking one soda everyday results in 23 percent higher chance of forming kidney stones.
Summary
Drink soft drinks in moderation. Gulping down a bottle or can of soft drinks everyday is highly risky.
