Women from Iran have removed their hijab and set it on fire after the death of a lady, Mahsa Amini, who was accused of wearing a hijab headscarf in an “improper” way. It was said that Amini was 22 years old and a local journalist in the country. She was arrested by the country’s morality police after she was seen putting on a hijab in the wrong way. she died in the custody of the police a few days after she was arrested and that resulted in a protest in the country.

The Iranian morality police are in charge of enforcing strict dress codes compulsory for women including wearing of hijab that covers the hair and neck. According to the Tehran Police, Amini was arrested and taken to the detention center to be educated about hijab, but she died in their custody of a heart attack, as claimed by the local police.

Her death has raised public anger as some women in the country protest by removing their hijabs and setting them on fire. Also, some of them were seen cutting off their hair while they burn their headscarf. The protest has spread to the extent that people throw stones at the security forces and set their vehicles on fire.
