The issue of armed robbery keeps on increasing every day in Ghana. It is not actually known the exact cause of the sudden rise of such cases despite the effort Ghana Police has put in place to curb and clamp down these activities. Another sad news has hit residents in Western Region specifically Wassa Dwabo. According to the Assemblyman who narrated the story on Angel TV, the young gold dealer by name of Emmanuel Afful went to work and was returning back home with his wife who is also a seamstress and children.
About a few meters to the house, he saw unforeseen circumstances as these robbers were wielding guns and giving warning shots around the house. In an attempt to run by reversing his car, they then shot directly toward his direction and died instantly. The robbers went to the car and opened the gate, pulled his wife out and pointed a gun on her. They told the wife of the man to open the doors of the house and show them where their monies are hiding. They ransacked the house and took gold and some monies in the house. They went back to the car and took monies and started firing indiscriminately.
Their actions put fear in the residents so no one was able to come out. When they were on their way going, they saw another man by the name of Samuel Donkor who has also returned from work. This man was on a phone call with his friend so when they saw him, they thought he was reporting the incident so they shot him as well. He was rushed to the hospital but unfortunately met his untimely death. The assemblyman recounted everything to Angel news. It is very sad that the precious lives of these promising men have been cut short by the robbers. They went out to work and were coming to find a place to sleep but look at what has happened. May their souls rest in perfect peace.
