Mr. Charti John who happens to be one of the NPP youth leaders in the Mion Constituency has finally added his voice following a reportage that was published on this portal regarding the selection of DCE in the Mion district.
Mr. John reacting to the article released a statement which reads as below
I read with disappointment an article published on paullingual.com on this 29th January,2021 titled: MMDCEs APPOINTMENT: MION YOUTH CALL ON AKUFO ADDO AND NPP; DEMANDS WIDER CONSULTATIONS BEFORE SETTLING ON A CANDIDATE.
To start with, the genesis of this story begins not quite long after the 7th December, 2020 election when there was a carrion call on us to meet and give out a candidate to be sent for appointment as DCE for Mion.
This meeting took place on the 22nd December, 2020 for us to decide whose name should be given. In attendance at this meeting were 32 members representing different communities chaired by the 1st vice chairman of the constituency. the meeting ended with only one person disagreeing with the people’s choice and reasons known to him including putting up himself as a candidate for the position of DCE.
That was when some of us feel things are falling apart should kinsmen behave this way after a consensus of a whole. Mion district is mixture of tribes including konkombas and there was that agreement of who becomes the DCE should NPP PC wins.
It is interesting and revealing why the writer has chosen to title the story “Mion youth”. This is not done and absolutely dead on arrival. You cannot go into politics with self-interest with the thought of destroying others for your good. We cannot trade our consciousness for that game.
A young leader’ cannot hide under the carpet of anonymity to destroy the youth of Mion and single out and pointing out an accusing finger only to 2004 and 2008 candidate just because the person was out doored to the public in rally with Konkomba chiefs and people held at Nalongni.
The konkomba youth for NPP Mion chapter find this story worrying and betraying after several engagements before, during and after election 2020.
Majority of the Konkomba youth for NPP in the Mion constituency has reached out a consensus and only will yield to the person that His excellency the vice president put up in the public at a rally in Nalongni prior to the election where our chiefs and people were all present and this is in the domain of all and sundry and we have since met and taken the decision in soliciting to that effect.
We want everyone to know that Mr Samuel Mahama’s name was mentioned by Vice president to be appointed as DCE for Mion should NPP PC wins and likely that has been so. we have together with Mr. Samuel Mahama slept in the villages during campaigning and it is time now his efforts are rewarded. Patience they say moves mountains.
Npp victory will be sustained in Mion should the people’s choice be made the DCE and that is no other person than Mr. Samuel Mahama. The konkomba youth for NPP in Mion only plead and wait for that bigger announcement from the appointing authority.

Acclaimed Mion Youth. They should go back and do more research and when finished will bound theirs head’s in shame. Mr. Samuel k. Mahama is the panacea of NPP in Mion. Who knew NPP in Mion, by his zeal and willingness to capture the seat from NDC in 2004 and 2008, the opponent uses cruel and all means to take the seat with slight margin of confidence interval. A claimed Mion Youth didn’t even mention 2012 and 2016 which NPP losed hand – down in the two consecutive years with Mr. Samuel not in the position of parliamentary candidate. All these shown, he is the corner stone which NPP is been built in Mion and should not reject, or else one day, we go look for him and we will not get
