A few weeks ago, the world was hit with the sad news of gospel singer and ekueme hit maker Osnicahi Nwachukwu’s death. Upon the news, there were many assumptions surrounding her cause of death, eventually, it was revealed her husband was responsible for her passing and he constantly maltreated and abused her physically.
The late singer’s twin sister testified it was the husband who was responsible for her passing because of his constant beating and maltreating of her. One of the deceased kids also testified against the father, and eventually, he was picked up by the police for investigations to begin. Upon the investigation, Peter Nwachukwu has been hit with 23 counts of charges. He was charged under sections 104 and 379 of the Administration of criminal justice Act, 2015 by the Attorney General of the federation.
The defendant was charged with culpable homicide contrary to section 221 of the Penal Code which is punishable with death by hanging.
This was sighted on the page of Ghpage.com. This decision comes after multiple confessions were made against him including that of his children. In an interview, his eldest son revealed her father use to beat her mother and torture her. He further added that her father made them believe maltreating a woman is normal.
This punishment is there to serve as a deterrent to others.
