Oropharyngeal Cancers are cancers that occur and develop on the inside of the mouth and throat. Smoking, excessive intake of alcohol, poor diet and oral hygiene are common causes of mouth and throat cancers. However, there is a particular cause of oropharyngeal cancers which mostly affects men.
According to research and studies, men who use their tongues to caress the female reproductive organ during intimacy are likely to develop oral cancers. During the process, Human papillomavirus (HPV) might be introduced into the oral cavity if the woman is infected the virus (Human papillomavirus) in her reproductive organ. The virus triggers changes in the infected cells. The genetic material of the virus becomes part of cancer cells, causing them to grow. Later on, these cells can become cancerous.
In a study published in the New England Journal of Medicine, it has been confirmed that men who have oral s3x with at least six different women have a significantly higher risk of developing oropharyngeal cancer.
The early stages of this cancer may cause discolored tissues in the mouth, mouth sores and ulcers in the throat that do not heal, and swelling or lumps in the mouth.
