In the course of our everyday lives, you will agree with me that there are numerous things we make use of but don’t know their actual use.
The funny part about this is not that we see these things but the fact is that we often conclude that they’re just there for nothing. Well, let’s take a look at these five things.
HOLES IN PEN COVERS:
Many people might have noticed that there’s always a hole in the cover of most pens but they don’t know its purpose.
You will agree with me that many people like to chew their cover and most times, they choke on them. However, in case the cover gets stuck in a person’s throat, the hole will help the person to breathe.
HOLE IN THE RING PULL OF CAN DRINKS:
If you’ve ever bought a can drink, I bet you must have seen that there is a hole in the ring pull of the can.
Well, the hole isn’t used for opening the drink alone like most of us may think but it also acts as a straw holder.
PUNT UNDER A BOTTLE:
In the course of drinking from bottles, especially wine bottles, you might have noticed a punt under the bottle. But the question here is ‘do you know what it’s used for?’.
Well if you think about it, the punt has numerous uses but one of its main use is that it makes it easier for the bottle to stand upright.
Meanwhile, do you know that in the past, the punts under wine bottles indicated that the wine was well made?
HOLE IN THE HANDLE OF POTS & PANS:
Hardly will you see a home without a pot or pan. However, if you take a look at the handle of the pot or pan, you will notice that it has a hole but do you know what it’s used for?
I know your answer will be yes because we use it to hang the pot. However, that’s not the only use because these holes are also used to hold kitchen utensils while cooking.
SMALL RAISED LINES ON KEY F & J ON THE PC OR COMPUTER:
If you have a computer or a PC, I am sure you might have noticed that the keys F and J have a small raised line of them.
Well, these lines are very useful when typing as it allows the user to know the position of different keys without looking at the keyboard.
