High blood sugar level which has two levels namely diabetes and prediabetes is a situation that occurs as a result of the inability of the body to carry out effective metabolism of carbohydrates and sugar.
These ingredients are responsible for providing the body with energy through the help of a hormone called insulin which is being produced by the pancreas.
When the body is unable to produce enough insulin to convert glucose to energy. or the cell is resistant to insulin, a person develops type 2 diabetes.
Diabetes shows a lot of signs in the body as excess glucose in the blood will cause a lot of complications. However, we want to highlight the signs of diabetes that may show on the feet.
1. Tingling Pain and numbness In the legs.
This pain occurs because of nerve damage. When the blood sugar level is very high, the arteries in the hands and legs may begin to get damaged, that is why these pains may occur.
2. Burning sensation in the legs.
Sometimes, the person may have a feeling of burning sensation in the feet. It is also as a result of nerve damage.
If the blood sugar level is not brought under control, this burning sensation may culminate into a blister or ulcer in the leg that may refuse to heal.
3.prickly pain.
Some people experience pain that feels like the pricking of needles on the feet as a result of nerve damage.
4. Sharp pains.
Pains in the legs may be a very sharp pain. All these are signs of diabetic nerve damage or peripheral neuropathy.
The solution to this condition may involve medications, lifestyle changes like changes in diet and physical exercise.
