The age of 40 is generally regarded as old age onset. The body begins to undergo some changes at this age. Likewise we are supposed to make some dietary changes to enable us to be healthy .
For this reason, we should make some healthy additions to our diet and also try to avoid some foods that are dangerous for our health.
1. Fatty portions of beef.
Beef is a red meat and is equally healthy to be taken in moderation if we choose the right portions. What every adults should try to avoid is the fatty portions in beef, pork and mutton.
These portions are equally the most tasteful portions in meat but unfortunately they contain saturated fats which very dangerous for our heart and blood vessels.
2. Trans fats.
Trans fats are partly hydrogenated oils that are used in the production of some biscuits mayonnaise, margarines, cookies, and some other baked products.
According to Healthline,they have been banned by FDA in the United States since 2020, but they are still in use in many countries. They may cause plague build up in the walls of your arteries.
Check food labels to ensure that your foods are free from trans fats also known as partly hydrogenated oils.
3. Canned meats.
Canned meats such as bacon, hotdogs, pepperoni, sausage, and corned beef have been labeled to be probably carsenogenic by a world health organization report group.
They are not recommend for consumption especially as you advance into the grey years instead choose fishes.
If you like meat go for lean cuts of meat like chicken, turkey, goat, lean cuts of beef.and pork.
4. Saturated fats.
Saturated fats are fats derived from fatty cuts of beef and pork, butter, ghee, suet, lard, red oil and coconut oil. However , according to Healthline, some researchers consider coconut oil as medium chain triglycerides which is absorbed differently and directly in the intestines.
They are believed by some researchers as not having a dangerous effect as other saturated oils in the body since they are absorbed directly in the intestines.
There is however no agreement concerning the effect of coconut oil in the body but it should be consumed in moderation until research on it concluded.
Pure palm oil should also be consumed in moderation because of its health benefits.
Conclusion: These foods are not good for every body but they may pose greater danger for grown up adults because they are at greater risk of getting heart diseases and stroke.
