Sugar is good for our health, it provides us with energy, builds our muscles, brain, and tissues. This same sugar becomes dangerous when we consume an excess of it.

Diabetes is often regarded as a lifetime illness because people who suffer from diabetes type 2, are not easily cured.

You may be suffering from diabetes if you are experiencing these signs and symptoms;

•Increased thirst.

•Frequent urination.

•Unexplained weight loss.

•Presence of ketones in the urine.

There are various ways you can reduce the risk of developing diabetes, but in this article, I will be sharing with you three habits that can help to reduce the risk of diabetes.

#1. Avoid alcohol consumption: Drinking alcoholic beverages increase the risk of diabetes. These beverages contain artificial sweeteners which store unhealthy fats and glucose in your body system. This leads to the development of certain deadly health conditions like obesity, diabetes, liver and kidney diseases, etc.

#2. Healthy eating. Eating foods that are favourable to your body organs helps in fighting so many diseases. This is because healthy food provides your body with the essential nutrients needed for the development of your body organs. You are advised to eat more dark green vegetables, fruits, and whole grains. These foods are rich in fibre, low calories, and fat. For a healthy body system, you should reduce the intake of redefined carbohydrates, animal products, etc.
