A suspected thief has been lynched at Bantama, off Pentecost Church stretch in the Bantama Constituency of the Ashanti Region.
The incident happened in the wee hours of today, Wednesday, September 7, 2022.
Eye witness told Filasconews.com this morning on condition of anonymity that, the lifeless body of the suspect, believed to be in his 20s was found in the gutter on the road leading to the Church of Pentecost in Bantama.
Reports gathered by this portal indicates that, the deceased together with some other guys on early motorbikes early this morning robbed long vehicle driver at the said area at a gun point.
In a rush to fleeing from the place with their motorbikes, the victim boldly pulled the suspect who was the pillion rider on one of the two motorcycles.
He fell on the ground in the process while his colleagues left him to his fate.
The suspect fired a gun shot at the victim but he managed to dodge and overpowered him.
Nearby locals got wind of the news and rushed to the scene.
Therefore, he was lynched to death.
However, the assembly member of Bantama, Hon. Kwabena Boateng a.k.a Trouble has also confirmed the incident to Filasconews.com.
The Suntreso police have conveyed the body to the Suntreso Government Hospital’s morgue for autopsy and preservation.
The has commenced investigation into the matter.
