Deputy National Security Coordinator, Mr. Opare Duncan, who has been acting as National Security Coordinator has been sacked by President Akufo-Addo and has been replaced by former Danquah Institute staffer Edward Asomani who was recruited into National Security in the first term of Akufo-Addo.
Mr. Kwaku Asomani who is a former Executive Director of Danquah Institute will now head the Deputy National Security Coordinator desk having served as Analysis head.
President Akufo-Addo has also appointed Major General Francis Adu-Amanfoh, a former Ambassador to Mali to serve as New National Security Coordinator.
Sources said the President was particularly impressed with his work in Mali where he has been Ambassador since 2017 when Akufo-Addo appointed him. Major-General Adu-Manfoh was reportedly Akufo-Addo’s eyes, ears and legs in Mali feeding him credible, real time intelligence on the Mali situation as ECOWAS Chair and contributing to peace building in the West African country.
