They claim the coronavirus pandemic is cover for a traceable microchip implementation plan and that Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates is behind it.

Speculation about a future coronavirus vaccine is escalating, and social media posts by anti-vaccination campaigners are gaining popularity on the internet.

So how did the founder of Microsoft, who injected billions into global healthcare through the philanthropic foundation he runs with his wife Melinda, became the bogeyman of Covid-19 conspiracy theorists?

Theories linking Bill Gates to the coronavirus were mentioned 1.2 million times on television or on social media between February and April, according to a study by the New York Times and Zignal Labs.

“If something kills over 10 million people over the next few decades, it is probably a highly infectious virus rather than a war,” he told the public.

In 2015, Bill Gates took the stage at the TED conference in Vancouver to issue a warning.

But now, the video from that conference has now been viewed over 64 million times – with much more interested in the reasons for the speech than the conference itself.

His premonitory words were repeated at the time, but have largely gone unheeded.

Rory Smith of First Draft News fact-checkers believes there is often a “kernel of truth” that is taken “out of context.”

Bill Gates is accused of being behind the coronavirus and of wanting to make vaccines mandatory, or even of trying to implant microchips in humans.

In an interview with the BBC, Bill Gates said he was surprised to have become the leading figure in such theories.

So, for example, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation funded a study, conducted by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology last year, that looked at the possibility of storing a patient’s vaccination history in a dye model. It would be invisible to the naked eye and could be given under the skin along with a vaccine.

Professor Joseph Uscinski, a political scientist at the University of Miami and author of books on conspiracy theories, believes it is simply because he is rich and famous.

“I’m kind of surprised some of them are focusing on me. We just give the money, we write the check … and yes, we think about protecting the kids from disease but it didn’t. nothing to do with fleas and that sort of thing. You almost have to laugh sometimes.”

“Before Bill Gates, it was George Soros and the Koch brothers and the Rothchilds and the Rockefellers.

“Conspiracy theories are about accusing powerful people of doing terrible things,” he told the BBC. “The theories are basically the same, only the names change.
