The introduction and subsequent passing if the Electronic Levy bill has been one of the most controversial issues in the Ghanaian society.
Ghana’s economy is performing badly, citizens are invading taxes, few citizens perform their responsibility of paying their taxes, the only way to save the country was through the controversial Electronic Levy, according to the government.
Meanwhile, majority of Ghanaians are against the proposed bill which is set to be implemented later next month.
Despite the grievances, government is not ready to let the bill fall to the advantage of majority of Ghanaians.
However, the Mobile Money Agents Association of Ghana are threatening to flock into the Jubilee House to meet with president Nana Addo Dankwah Akuffo Addo to either nullify or reduce the 1.5% bill.
Do you think the E-levy is the solution to Ghana’s dying economy? Already we have lost over 3 months of revenue.
